PROSPER DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY · BETTER TOGETHER ALWAYS
People first. Community led. Accountable by design.
To organize people and partnerships to deliver social welfare, economic empowerment and sustainable community development through strong grassroots structures, innovation, enterprise and accountable institutions.
To be Africa’s leading people-driven development institution, building prosperous, resilient and inclusive communities that thrive together.
Prosper Development Society is a nonprofit, non-partisan and non-sectarian member-based society registered under the Societies Act (Cap. 108), Registration No. SOCA-MOTV22M, on 26 May 2025. Our founding headquarters are in Busia, Kenya.
Our purpose is national, with a constitutional ambition to serve communities across Africa through lawful expansion. Current county presence is shown separately from that ambition in our public register summary.
Members and Community Action Groups connect through Ward and Subcounty Champions to County Teams and national or country structures. Congress, the Board and the Office of the President provide the constitutional framework for governance and stewardship.
The five constitutional departments anchor leadership, Secretariat administration, finance, welfare and programmes. Authorities and responsibilities are defined in the Constitution and Governance Manual.
Women, youth, persons with disabilities, older persons, families, professionals, enterprise actors and communities have a place in our shared purpose.
